Geraldine M. Phillips

	Geraldine M. 'Jerri' Phillips, 79, 0f Sesser, passed away at 1:35 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at her home.
	Jerri was born May 10, 1924 in Pinckneyville, the daughter of Ira and Clara (Pulke) Miller.  she married John Phillips Jr., her husband of 59 years, on May 28, 1944 in Camp Polk, La.; he survives.
	Jerri is also survived by a son, Jack R. Phillips and wife Stacie of Mt. Vernon; two granddaughters, Heather Dorr and husband Erik of Scottsdale, Ariz. and April Phillips of St. Louis, Mo.; two grandsons, Chase Phillips of Champaign and Breck Phillips of Mt. Vernon.  Other survivors include a sister, Carolyn Cook of Liberty, N.Y. and friend Bob Mullen; a brother, Tom Miller and wife Janet Ann of Pinckneyville; two sisters-in-law, Madge Lovin and Anita Basso; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and close friends.  Jerri was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Carl Miller; a sister, Nedra Lacy and a sister-in-law, Dolly Phillips.
	Jerri was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Sesser for over 50 years.  Among her many community involvements, she was a member of the Xi Lambda Gamma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.  Jerri was a homemaker and assisted her husband in the daily activities of Sesser Monument Company.
	Services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Sesser with Rev. Woody Wilson officiating.  Burial was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser.  Friends called from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
	Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home.
	In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Sesser or to St. Mary's Good Samaritan Hospice.
